Travis d'Arnaud Continues With Baseball Activities
3 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud (thumb), who is on the 60-day injured list with torn ligaments in his left thumb, continues to throw, hit with one hand and do conditioning exercises. However, until he regains more strength in his surgically repaired hand, the Braves aren't setting a start date for his rehab assignment. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks once he starts his rehab assignment, d'Arnaud should be an option to return to the Braves at some point in August. Before his injury, the 32-year-old veteran backstop was hitting just .220/.253/.341 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 82 at-bats, but he could once again become an option in two-catcher leagues later in the second half. Kevan Smith and William Contreras have been sharing the catching duties in Atlanta with d'Arnaud out.
