Adam Ottavino Records Seventh Save Monday

Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Adam Ottavino was credited with his seventh save of the year Monday, despite a shaky outing in which he allowed a run on two hits and a walk and came very close to losing the lead on a hard Shohei Ohtani line drive. He struck out two batters. Ottavino was filling in for Matt Barnes, who had thrown 33 pitches in the previous night's game, but even from a setup role it seems likely that he may post a higher save totals than the closers on some lesser teams. He's an outstanding add in leagues that reward saves and holds, and could hold fringe value in traditional formats.
