David Peterson Diagnosed With Oblique Strain
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson (side), placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday, was diagnosed with an oblique strain on Saturday. It is reportedly a strain between grades 1 and 2, which will keep him sidelined for an undetermined amount of time. According to manager Luis Rojas, Peterson is "week-to-week" at this point. Peterson has had a very inconsistent campaign in 2021, posting an unimpressive 2-6 record with a 5.54 ERA through 15 starts this season. Moments of brilliance have been mixed in with rough stretches for the 25-year-old southpaw. When he eventually returns, Peterson is a potential streaming option based on the matchup.
