Jose Berrios Fails To Record A Strikeout In No-Decision
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios didn't miss many bats in a no-decision against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Berrios pitched five innings, allowing four runs, three earned, while walking one with no strikeouts. He generated just five whiffs and allowed 10 hits, as the White Sox loaded up a fair amount of traffic on the basepaths against him. Berrios' spin rates on each of his sinker, fastball, and curveball were down in RPMs by the 100s, and the stuff clearly wasn't as good. It's still encouraging that he was able to limit the damage despite the runners on base. He'll look to fare better in the strikeout column in a rematch against Chicago on July 6.
