Dansby Swanson Doubles And Walks In Sunday's Win
3 years agoAtlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson reached base twice in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He went 1-for-3 in the game with a double and a walk. Swanson has had a disappointing year offensively so far. Through 77 games, he's slashing .234/.289/.440 with 13 home runs, four stolen bases, 34 RBI and 32 runs. His slugging percentage is only down a little from last year's .464 clip, but he batted .274 with a .345 on-base percentage last year. His career-low 6.5% walk rate this year is greatly contributing to his low on-base percentage. However, he has a career-best 45.7% hard-hit rate, up from 40.7% last year. Plus, his .252 xBA suggests his batting average is a bit lower than it should be. Swanson is a must-roster player in most formats. He's a steady bat in the middle of one of the league's best lineups. Better numbers should be ahead.
