Brandon Lowe Hits His 15th Home Run On Sunday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman/outfielder Brandon Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and three strikeouts in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. The home run was his 15th of the year, six of which have come this month. It's been a rough year for Lowe, who is slashing just .203/.313/.414 over 74 games. Unfortunately, his underlying stats don't offer much encouragement going forward. He has a .226 xBA, down from .261 last year, when he hit .269. He also has a 31.9% strikeout rate, which ranks in the bottom 5% of the league. He should still provide a decent amount of home runs going forward, but his batting average might not climb much more, especially if his strikeout woes continue.
