Alek Manoah Sharp In Friday’s No-Decision
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah was sharp during the team's extra-inning loss the Orioles on Friday, giving up just one unearned run over six frames of work. The 23-year-old gave up four hits and two walks while striking out six in the 97-pitch effort before leaving with a 3-1 lead. The Jays tacked on a couple more runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead so Manoah was unfortunately saddled with a no-decision. The right-hander has gotten his career off to a terrific start with a 3.34 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 33 punchouts in 29 2/3 IP. He's proven to be reliable enough to be started in any matchup that comes his way, especially for his next scheduled one versus the Mariners next week.
