Taijuan Walker With Another Solid Start On Friday
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker continued his excellent season in his first year with the Mets in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Walker picked up a no-decision, but he struck out five and walked only one while allowing just one earned run in his five innings of work. With the effort, the right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.38 while striking out 82 and walking 25 in his 14 starts over 79 1/3 innings pitched. Walker has a tough matchup in his next scheduled start against the division-rival Atlanta Braves next Wednesday, but he's earned must-start status with his performance so far in the first half.
