Matt Manning Earns First Career Win On Wednesday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning put together a solid outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. He pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed five hits, two walks and two earned runs while striking out one. He earned his first win of his MLB career as the Tigers went on to win the game 6-2. Manning has made two starts in the majors now and both have gone about the same. In his previous outing, he went five innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out three. The minimal strikeouts are disappointing, but he's doing a solid job of limiting run production through two career starts. He's set up to be a two-start pitcher next week with starts on Monday against the Cleveland Indians and on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox.
