Adam Engel Placed On Injured List
4 years agoThe Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list prior to their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday with a strained right hamstring. The move is retroactive to June 20. Outfielder Luis Gonzalez was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. It's the same hamstring that delayed Engel's season debut until early June, so there's a good chance he'll be out longer than 10 days. In just 10 games before he hit the injured list for a second time, the 29-year-old hit .241 with three home runs and a stolen base. Brian Goodwin is in center field on Tuesday and is hitting second against Pirates left-hander Tyler Anderson. The left-handed hitting Goodwin isn't much of a DFS play against the southpaw, but he'll become more attractive in AL-only leagues with more playing time. The veteran is slashing .259/.355/.519 with a homer and six RBI in just nine games this year.
