Jonathan Villar Dealing With Right Calf Tightness
3 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Jonathan Villar (calf) was removed from the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves after injuring himself while running out a double. It was initially believed to be a leg issue, but after the game, Mets manager Luis Rojas told reporters that Villar was instead dealing with right calf tightness. Villar had right hamstring tightness in May, so it's certainly concerning to see another occurrence of tightening on his right side. He is slated to be reevaluated on Tuesday, at which point we'll know more about the extent of the injury and whether it will require a stint on the injured list or just a day or two off.
