Detroit Tigers shortstop Harold Castro will start on Saturday evening against the Angels, batting last. With Niko Goodrum (finger) recently landing on the injured list because of a sprained left index digit, Isaac Paredes was called up from Triple-A Toledo. However, Paredes' flight was delayed, making him unavailable to take on southpaw Patrick Sandoval. Instead, Castro will now handle duties at short, but with a miserable .143 average against left-handed tossers this season, fantasy managers in all formats should stay right away from him.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers second baseman Harold Castro is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals. The left-handed hitter will take a seat against Royals left-hander Daniel Lynch. The 28-year-old utility infielder has been solid for the Tigers in 400 at-bats in 2022, slashing .275/.303/.388 with seven home runs, 47 RBI and 36 runs scored. Castro should be back in the starting lineup when Detroit faces another right-handed pitcher. Rookie Ryan Kreidler is starting at the keystone on Wednesday and is batting seventh against Lynch. In his first 61 plate appearances in his first 18 major-league games, Kreidler has gone 11-for-52 (.212) with only a homer, five RBI and 17 strikeouts, so he'll be one to avoid in DFS.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers first baseman Harold Castro (thumb) is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels. Castro was forced to leave Wednesday's game early with left thumb soreness, and he should be considered day-to-day for now. He's been solid for Detroit in 2022, slashing .280/.311/.402 with five home runs, 29 RBI and 31 runs scored in 296 at-bats. Jonathan Schoop is playing first base and will hit seventh on Friday against Angels left-hander Patrick Sandoval. Schoop will be a deep DFS sleeper on Friday with his .202/.235/.316 slash line and nine home runs, 33 RBI, 40 runs scored and five stolen bases in 421 at-bats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers infielder Harold Castro (calf) was removed in the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. He was hit in his calf by a pitch in the first inning of the contest and his calf began to feel stiff later in the game, leading to his removal. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch labeled him day-to-day. Castro was 0-for-2 with a pair of runs scored in Sunday's game. The 28-year-old is slashing .281/.298/.432 with four home runs, 16 RBI and 17 runs over 45 games on the year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers utility man Harold Castro got the start at shortstop Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins, and he made the most of it, homering twice in a 3-for-4 effort to lead the team to a 4-2 victory. Castro has played all over the diamond this season, garnering 75 plate appearances as a part-time contributor, but he may be earning additional opportunities by virtue of his .301/.316/.493 slash line.--Doug Goldring
