Alex Kirilloff Extends Hitting Streak To Five Games
3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/first baseman Alex Kirilloff went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the New York Yankees. Kirilloff singled in the second inning, then tripled in the ninth and scored on a Miguel Sano base hit. The 23-year-old had an excellent day at the plate, registering an average exit velocity of 98.8 MPH on his four batted balls. It's encouraging because Kirilloff hadn't been hitting the ball very hard lately, so perhaps his power will be returning soon. Yankees' right-hander Michael King ranks in the 24th percentile in expected slugging, so Thursday's matchup presents a good opportunity for the talented prospect to get going in the home run column once again.
