Nelson Cruz With Just Two Homers Over Past Month
Minnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz hasn't been producing his usual power numbers lately. He has hit just two home runs since May 1 despite starting most games since then. Cruz got off to a strong start to the year, hitting seven home runs in April. All of his underlying metrics look like the type of Cruz numbers we're used to seeing. His current 53.4% hard-hit rate is actually a career-best clip and it ranks in the top 5% of the league. He also ranks in the 99th percentile in max exit velocity (116.6 mph). Fantasy managers should expect to see a flurry of home runs from Cruz soon.
