Michael Pineda Hit Hard In Loss To Orioles
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda struggled in Tuesday's loss to the Baltimore Orioles. Pineda lasted just three innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with one strikeout against no walks. The veteran right-hander shut down this same Orioles' lineup last week but wasn't fooling any hitters with only five whiffs and an average exit velocity of 93.3 MPH allowed. His exit after three frames is tied for the second-shortest outing of his career as a Twin. Pineda still owns a 3.40 ERA and 1.07 WHIP after the poor start and will get a chance to bounce back against the Kansas City Royals on June 6. Pineda pitched five innings of one-run ball against them earlier this season.
