Michael King Takes Loss Sunday
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Michael King was charged with the loss on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers. King pitched just 2 1/3 innings, surrendering four runs, two earned, on two walks with a pair of strikeouts. He allowed just a 79.5 MPH average exit velocity, though he was plagued by some shoddy defense behind him, as the Yankees committed a few errors in the contest. King still owns a 2.86 ERA n the season, but it has come with some foreboding Statcast metrics. He should get another chance as a starter for New York with Corey Kluber (shoulder) sidelined for the next several weeks, though he is more of a matchup-based option.
