Corey Kluber Diagnosed With Right Shoulder Strain
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Corey Kluber (shoulder) was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain and will be shut down from throwing for four weeks, per manager Aaron Boone. Kluber is headed for another MRI to rule out any other injuries. The best-case scenario for the veteran right-hander is that he is sidelined for four weeks and then builds up for four weeks, putting him in line to return in late July. It's a tough blow considering that Kluber was starting to pitch like an ace in May, with a 2.27 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings. Deivi Garcia is set to pitch this weekend in Detroit and seems poised to stick in the rotation this time around.
