Texans Release Ryan Finley

The Houston Texans are releasing quarterback Ryan Finley on Monday after they recently signed quarterback Jeff Driskel. The Texans acquired Finley from the Cincinnati Bengals in a trade, but it was just a late-round pick swap. With Finley now gone, Houston's quarterback depth chart consists of Deshaun Watson, Tyrod Taylor, Driskel and rookie Davis Mills. But Watson is facing a potential suspension from the league due to over 20 allegations of sexual assault and misconduct during massage sessions, and he also continues to push for a trade this offseason. If Watson is suspended or traded, Taylor, Driskel and Mills could all compete for the starting job under center in Houston. Finley, 26, completed 53.1 percent of his 32 passes in five games (one start) last year for Cincy, throwing for 164 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
