Jameson Taillon Pitches Five Scoreless Innings In No-Decision
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon didn't factor into the decision despite a strong effort on the mound in Sunday's win over the Chicago White Sox. Taillon pitched five scoreless innings, allowing a pair of walks and hits while striking out four batters. The veteran right-hander continues to harness a plus-fastball, as he threw it 54 times out of 80 pitches, generating seven whiffs and an average exit velocity of 86.6 MPH. After allowing four runs in back-to-back starts, Taillon bounced back with Sunday's performance. He lowered his season ERA to 5.06 with the effort and will look to build on it in his next outing against the Detroit Tigers on May 29. Taillon fanned eight Tigers in five innings back on May 1.
