Cavan Biggio Dealing With Sore Neck
Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo moved infielder Cavan Biggio (neck) to designated hitter on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox because he's been dealing with a sore neck that makes it harder to throw. Biggio has primarily been playing third base, but Santiago Espinal got the nod at the hot corner while batting eighth against left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on Tuesday. It's unclear how long the Blue Jays plan to use Biggio as the DH, but it's likely just a short-term situation. It's something to watch, especially as the 26-year-old has gotten off to a really slow start to the season entering Tuesday's game, slashing .214/.336/.339 with three home runs, 10 RBI and two stolen bases in 112 at-bats over 35 games. Fantasy managers will be hoping that some time off his feet will get him going at the plate.
