Daniel Lynch Sent Down To Triple-A
4 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Daniel Lynch was sent down to Triple-A Omaha on Friday. Lynch was shaky in Thursday's outing, as he surrendered seven hits and three earned runs in just 2 2/3 innings, raising his season ERA and WHIP to 15.75 and 2.87, respectively. Manager Mike Matheny noted that the team believes in Lynch's ability and expects him to "be around for a long time" but that he needs to clean up a few things, namely his delivery and mechanics. Lynch certainly has flashed the ability to be a successful big league starter in the minors, as he's pitched to a 2.50 ERA in 147 2/3 innings while fanning 157 batters compared to 37 walks.
