Tanner Roark Signs With Braves
4 years agoThe Atlanta Braves signed starting pitcher Tanner Roark to a minor league deal on Monday, according to a source. Roark was 0-1 with a rough 6.43 ERA and 1.28 WHIP while striking out five and walking two in three outings (one start) covering seven innings for the Toronto Blue Jays before being let go. The 34-year-old right-hander allowed three home runs and has a weak 7.3 career K/9 in nine big league seasons with the Washington Nationals, Blue Jays, Cincinnati Reds and Oakland Athletics. Roark could be a starting option for Atlanta while their rotation gets back to full strength in the short term, but he doesn't have much upside at this point in his career and should remain on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.
