Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda notched his third quality start of the season despite a no-decision on Thursday. Pineda pitched six innings, allowing a pair of runs on six hits while fanning five batters compared to one walk. The 32-year-old ran into trouble in the second inning, surrendering a home run to Joey Gallo and an RBI single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa, but settled in to toss four scoreless frames the rest of the way. Pineda didn't miss many bats, but he did generate seven whiffs on his slider and totaled 18 called strikes. He left the game in line for the win, but the Twins' bullpen cost him a victory for the second time this season. Pineda will carry a 2.43 ERA and 32:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 33 1/3 innings into his next outing against the White Sox, scheduled for May 12.
