Marcus Stroman Goes Five Innings In Loss
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman (hamstring), not impacted by a tightened hamstring suffered in his prior start, was able to make his scheduled start against the Cardinals on Wednesday. Stroman went five innings in the first game of a doubleheader allowing seven hits, one walk, and two earned runs while striking out six in the Mets' 4-1 loss. It was a somewhat uneven start for the righty, though he battled and put the Mets in a position to win had their bats woken up. Stroman (3-3) now owns a solid 2.12 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and a 29:7 K:BB in 34 innings pitched on the season. Stroman is scheduled to next face the Orioles at home on Tuesday in what should be a favorable matchup. He should remain active in all formats given his excellent start to the 2021 season.
