4 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Mike Ford has been recalled from the team's alternate site ahead of Tuesday's game with the Braves. With Luke Voit (knee) expected to be sidelined until mid-May and Jay Bruce retiring, the Yankees have a vacancy at first- and Ford is a possible option to fill it. The 28-year-old had a quiet 2020 season but was excellent for the Bronx Bombers in '19, posting a .909 OPS with 12 homers and 25 RBI in 50 games. DJ LeMahieu should be expected to see most of the at-bats at first- though Ford's lefty bat will inevitably find its way into a predominantly right-handed hitting Yankees' lineup.--Tim Capurso
