Sandy Alcantara Sharp Until The Seventh On Saturday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara was excellent for the first six innings of Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants, but was left in for the seventh and struggled. In total, Alcantara threw 6 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on six hits without walking a batter and striking out seven. Alcantara dominated through six, holding the Giants scoreless, but he was allowed to pitch the seventh and only got one out. Another silly bullpen move by Don Mattingly meant that all of the runners Alcantara left on base came in to score. It was a much better outing for Alcantara than his final line showed.
