DJ LeMahieu Collects Fifth Multi-Hit Game
4 years agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and a run scored in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Tampa Bay. LeMahieu got the scoring started for New York in the bottom of the second inning, singling home Gary Sanchez to tie the game at one. The 32-year-old impressively has at least one hit in 11 of 13 games played this season- and five of them have been of the multi-hit variety. LeMahieu is also on-pace for the best walk rate of his career in the early part of the season, though it's due in part to a decrease in his swing percentage, as well as pitchers throwing him fewer first-pitch strikes. He'll face Rays' lefty Ryan Yarbrough on Sunday, who has been hit hard so far in 2021.
