Dylan Floro Struggles In A Save Opportunity
4 years agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher Dylan Floro struggled in the ninth inning of Thursday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Floro was called upon for the save after Yimi Garcia threw 25 pitches on Wednesday night and was not available on Thursday. Floro came into a 6-5 game and allowed two singles followed by a walk to load the bases with no outs. He was able to notch a strikeout to get the first out, but then walked in the tying run. On the very next pitch, Dansby Swanson put Floro out of his misery by lining a base hit to left field and walking off the Marlins. Floro had been excellent this season, but was unable to handle the stress of the ninth inning. His usage showed that he is likely the next one in line in the Miami bullpen, but you never know with Don Mattingly.
