Texans Sign Antony Auclair
4 years agoThe Houston Texans signed free-agent tight end Antony Auclair to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday. Auclair appeared in eight games (two starts) for the Super Bowl-champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year, mostly serving as a blocking tight end. He played behind names such as Rob Gronkowski, Cameron Brate and Tanner Hudson and was targeted just once all year as a result. O.J. Howard is also set to return in 2021, so the Bucs had no real need for another tight end. The Canadian tight end has played in 32 career games (18 starts) and has caught 10 passes for 84 yards since he entered the league in 2017. Auclair spent time on Injured Reserve last year but returned to the team in October. He joins a crowded Houston roster at tight end with Jordan Akins, Pharaoh Brown, Kahale Warring, Ryan Izzo and Paul Quessenberry.
