Trea Turner Having Some Early Strikeout Woes

Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner hasn't shown great plate discipline through the early going this year. Through eight games, he has a 24.2% strikeout rate, up from 13.9% last year. He's struck out twice in each of his past two games. His walk rate so far this year (3%) is also well below where it usually is. He had a walk rate of 8.5% in 2020. Turner has hit two home runs and has a decent slugging percentage of .452. He also recorded his first stolen base of the year on Sunday. Fantasy managers should rest assured. There's nothing alarming here, just a bit of a slow start for the Nationals star.
