Jorge Alfaro Does Nothing Right On Tuesday
4 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro (hamstring) was back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game and managed to go 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in a game the Marlins won 14-6. Every other Marlins starter had at least one hit, and seven other Marlins scored at least one run. In fact, starting pitcher Pablo Lopez and relief pitcher John Curtiss had better at bats than Alfaro in this game. Alfaro also just straight up missed a ball on a play at the plate even though he plays the position called "catcher". The Marlins seem to be fielding a competitive team, but they have absolutely nothing at the catcher position and no prospects anywhere near ready either. It's something that will need to be addressed soon if the team plans to compete this season.
