Panthers In No Rush With Teddy Bridgewater
4 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule confirmed that the team is allowing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to seek a trade after they acquired Sam Darnold from the New York Jets, but the Panthers are in no hurry to make a move with Bridgewater. Rhule still thinks Bridgewater can win in the NFL as a starter, but Carolina chose to upgrade with Darnold heading into the 2021 season. The Panthers haven't committed to Darnold as the Week 1 starter, but it'd be a shock if Darnold isn't the starter after the team traded away three draft picks to land him. Rhule also said the Panthers could take a signal-caller with the No. 8 overall pick this year. Bridgewater could remain with the team in 2021, but it's looking increasingly unlikely.
