Matthews' three-goal performance, along with an assist in the contest, marked his eighth multi-goal performance of the season, including a stretch of 10 goals scored over the past eight games. Maple Leafs forward Mitchell Marner recorded a four-point night of his own, with one goal and three assists, while goaltender Jack Campbell improved to a historic 11-0-0 record with his 27-save performance. Matthews is up to 31 goals (1st in NHL), 21 assists and 52 points (T-3rd in NHL) through 38 games, making the 23-year-old a must-start player every night.
