4 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Jared Walsh is absent from the team's starting lineup for Saturday's game against lefty Steven Matz and the Toronto Blue Jays. Albert Pujols is manning first base for the game and hitting fifth. Walsh is off to a strong start to the year. He's reached base in six straight games and is slashing .375/.464/.833 with three home runs, three walks, nine RBI and six runs. The left-handed Walsh performed relatively well against lefties last year, hitting .324, but he had a slugging percentage of just .471, compared to .738 against righties.
