4 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman/outfielder Chris Owings (thumb) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb sprain. Owings had been dealing with hamstring tightness earlier this week, causing him to sit two straight games, but this is a new injury. The team called up infielder Alan Trejo in a corresponding move. Owings has been fantastic so far this year, going 8-for-16 with three triples and three doubles. Trejo will have an opportunity for playing time while Owings is sidelined and outfielders Sam Hilliard and Yonathan Daza should see a bump in playing time as well.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
