Jeimer Candelario Hitting .300 Through Five Games
4 years agoDetroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario has been steadying the team's lineup through five games this year. He's gone 6-for-20 with two doubles, two walks, two RBI and four runs. He struck out three times in the season opener, but has only struck out once since. Candelario hit second in the lineup for the first four games, then moved down to the cleanup spot on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins. He's yet to record a barrel over 16 batted balls, but he's registered an average exit velocity of 93.8 mph, a significant increase from his career average exit velocity of 88 mph. Candelario hit .297 last year and should be a solid source of batting average help for fantasy managers this year. His prime lineup position should also allow him to have decent run scoring and run producing numbers.
