Teddy Bridgewater Likely Done In Carolina
4 years agoThe Carolina Panthers spoke with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater after their trade for Sam Darnold on Monday and allowed Bridgewater the opportunity to talk with teams to potentially facilitate a trade, according to sources. The Panthers are open to hanging onto Bridgewater, but they will give him a chance to decide his own future. Carolina traded for Darnold on Monday and plan for him to be their starting quarterback heading into the 2021 season. That means that Bridgewater would either be the backup in Carolina, or he could latch on with another team via a trade to compete for a starting role elsewhere. The 28-year-old threw for 3,733 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 15 games in his first season with the team last year. Injuries and sacks were issues for him last year, and it looks like he'll be fighting an uphill battle to return to fantasy relevance next season.
