Walker Buehler Looking For More Velocity
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler had a fine 2021 debut outing against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. He pitched six innings and allowed four hits, no walks and two earned runs while striking out four. However, Buehler wasn't content with his velocity in the game. His fastball was hovering around 96 and 97 mph, which is about standard for him, but Buehler believes he has more to deliver. After the game, Buehler said, "I felt good. The velocity is not kind of where I want it, but adrenaline and kind of getting your body settled help." Buehler threw 90 pitches in the game, which is the most he's ever thrown in his first outing of the year. His next start will come on Friday in a home game against the Washington Nationals.
