Jose Urena Lasts Just Three Innings In Tigers Debut
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jose Urena had a disappointing debut outing for his new team. Facing a tough Minnesota Twins lineup, Urena pitched three innings and allowed four hits, four walks and six runs (five earned) while striking out five. Urena is currently the Tigers' fourth starter, but the team has elite pitching prospect Matt Manning looming at Triple-A and they also have a few former starters in their bullpen, most notably Michael Fulmer and Derek Holland. Bottom line, Urena will need to turn things around quickly in order to hold down a spot in the Tigers rotation. He'll look to bounce back from his rough debut on Sunday, when he'll face the Cleveland Indians.
