Saints Will Be Flexible At Quarterback Position
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the team wants to maintain flexibility in the process of deciding who the starting quarterback will be over the coming months. The competition will be between Jameis Winston, Taysom Hill and possibly a rookie and will take place through the spring and summer months. "The most important thing is leading this team, leading the offense to scores—protecting the football and scoring," Payton said. The offense will be built with flexibility to play either Winston or Hill, two signal-callers with vastly different styles. There is a possibility that both players share duties on offense on a weekly basis. Winston is more of a pocket passer with more fantasy upside in New Orleans' offense, but Hill also has some appeal because of his athleticism and his ability to use his legs. Winston will have QB1 upside if he wins the starting job, but this will be a situation to watch as we head into the summer months.
