4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jose Urena will be the fourth starter in the team's rotation to start the year. His first start will come when the Tigers open up a three-game series with the Minnesota Twins on Monday, April 5. Urena had a solid spring overall, posting a 1.93 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 14 innings. However, he struggled significantly with walks, allowing nine walks compared with just five strikeouts. Urena turned 29 years old this past September. He's entering his first year with the Tigers after spending the first six years of his MLB career with the Miami Marlins. Last year, he went 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over five starts.
