4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sixto Sanchez was optioned to the team's alternate training site in Jacksonville, Florida. Sanchez got off to a late start this spring and was a little behind the rest of the starting rotation. Combine that with the fact that the Marlins want to limit his innings this season and that they won't need a fifth starter until the third time through the rotation, and it makes plenty of sense for Sixto to get some more throwing in before he comes back up to rejoin the big league squad. As long as he stays healthy, he'll be on the mound for the Marlins some time in mid-April.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
