Spencer Turnbull Expected To Miss Most Of Camp
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull (COVID-19 protocols) is expected to miss most of the rest of camp while in the COVID-19 protocols. Manager AJ Hinch said that it's looking "more and more unlikely that he's going to be able to do much between now and the end of camp." The 28-year-old has made three starts this spring, so he at least has a baseline to build off of, though the time he's missed will likely cost him a couple of turns in the rotation at the beginning of the year. Turnbull is a late-round bench option for fantasy managers after posting a 50.0 percent groundball rate and 21.1 percent strikeout rate in 2020, though his bloated walk rate looms large.
