The Boston Red Sox have made several roster moves on Wednesday. The team is sending its top prospect, first baseman Triston Casas, to the minor leagues. Outfielder Jarren Duran, the team's No. 4 prospect, has been reassigned as well. Duran had a strong spring with the club, slashing .318/.375/.773 with two home runs and two doubles over 22 at-bats. He revamped his swing over the past year and will likely see his MLB debut in 2021. Casas, meanwhile, went hitless over six spring at-bats. He just turned 21 years old and there's a chance he won't see the majors until 2022. Also reassigned to the minors by the team on Wednesday were Kole Cottam, Daniel Gossett, Stephen Gonsalves, Josh Ockimey and Yairo Munoz.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas blasted a three-run home run and drew one walk in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Mariners. This was his second game in a row with a home run, and the slugger is finally showing signs of life after a very slow start to the season. He's batting just .171 on the year with three home runs, 10 RBI, and five runs through 23 games. Even his usually stellar walk rate is down to a middling 8.8%, with truly nothing going right for him over the first few weeks. He seems to be snapping out of it recently though, dating back to Saturday when he delivered a walk-off hit. It's too early to give up on Casas in fantasy, as he still possesses massive power upside.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 8-3 win against the Seattle Mariners. The 25-year-old blasted his second dinger of the season off Mariners reliever Trent Thornton in the bottom of the seventh to give Boston a four-run lead, and they never looked back. It's been a slow few weeks for Casas, as he's gone 6-for-40 (.150) over his last 11 appearances with one extra-base hit, four RBI, and one run scored. The former first-round pick has been superb against left-handed pitchers this season (5-for-8), but struggled against righties to an abysmal .113 batting average. On the bright side, he's cut his strikeout rate by seven points from 2024. Still, it sits at an undesirable 24.1%.--Alex Ciulla

Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas and outfielder Wilyer Abreu will take a seat on Tuesday against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays and left-hander Easton Lucas at Fenway Park. Romy Gonzalez will make the start at first base and bat seventh, while Rob Refsnyder is starting in right field and is batting cleanup for the BoSox. Casas has gotten off to a slow start this year, going 7-for-39 (.179) with a homer, two doubles, three RBI and 13 K's in 11 games played. Abreu has been excellent, slashing .424/.537/.788 with a 1.324 OPS, three homers, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored and a steal in 33 at-bats. Refsnyder, although he's never faced Lucas in his career, has been known as a lefty killer and will be the more attractive DFS sleeper for Tuesday's slate. In his career, the South Korean outfielder has hit .278 with 15 of his 24 home runs against lefties.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas (hand) is starting at first base and batting cleanup on Opening Day. Casas suffered a minor hand injury after fielding a ground ball earlier this week. The X-rays came back negative and did not inhibit him from playing on Opening Day. This is an excellent sign for the 25-year-old as he battled injuries last season, which limited him to just 63 contests. Across this limited stint, Casas posted an underwhelming .241/.337/.462 slash line with eight doubles and 13 long balls. He generated a strong 13.3 percent barrel rate and drew walks at a 12.3 percent rate. In 2023, Casas enjoyed a breakout campaign as he posted a .263/.367/.490 slash line with 24 round-trippers. Fantasy managers should view Casas as a solid No. 1 first baseman in all formats. He is also strong play in DFS this afternoon, facing Texas right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
