4 years agoThe New Orleans Saints and quarterback Jameis Winston worked out a one-year deal on Monday with base salary of $5.5 million guaranteed. Winston can earn as much as $12 million through incentives, according to a league source. The former first overall pick and Heisman Trophy winner spent his first five seasons with the Buccaneers before signing a one-year deal last year with the Saints. The Bears were serious suitors for his services before he returned to New Orleans. The 27-year-old completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 19,737 yards, 121 touchdowns and 88 interceptions with Tampa. He led the league with 5,109 passing yards in 2019, but also became the first QB in history to throw at least 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Winston will compete for the starting gig in training camp with Taysom Hill.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
