Jazz Chisholm Smacks Two Singles On Monday
4 years agoMiami Marlins infielder Jazz Chisholm got two singles in Monday's Grapefruit League win against the Houston Astros. Chisholm got the start at second base and went 2-for-2 with a run scored. The solid performance lifted Jazz's batting average to an even .200, slightly better (or at least less-bad) than his main competition, Isan Diaz, who is hitting .125. One of those two was expected to "win" the second base job, but with Jon Berti sporting an 1.172 OPS, Don Mattingly's hand may be forced to give the super utility man the starting role. There's still enough spring left that things could change, but Jazz looks like he may need some Triple-A time to start the season.
