Alex Reyes Strikes Out Three In An Inning Of Work
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right handed pitcher Alex Reyes worked an inning in relief in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Mets. Reyes tossed a scoreless inning, recording all three outs by strikeout while allowing two hits in between. Cardinals President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak said the plan is for Reyes to throw around 100 innings this season, which means he won't be getting the ball as a starter every fifth day, but he also won't just be working short one-inning relief stints. Reyes could ultimately operate as a swingman this season with some starts along the way. He should be a valuable fantasy piece whenever he's on the mound, but that could be harder to predict than usual this season.
