4 years agoSan Francisco Giants rookie catcher Joey Bart faces stiff competition for playing time thanks to the presence of Buster Posey but he's off to a strong start this spring. The young backstop went 2-for-3 with a home run on Sunday. He's now 6-for-8 (.625) in the early going. The homer was his first extra-base hit of the year. Bart showed significant swing-and-miss tendencies during his first taste of the majors last year but he's gone down swinging just twice so far this spring. If he can continue to make a reasonable amount of contact while flashing his plus power, he could start to push his way into meaningful playing time. Bart is ranked by Rotoballer as the 42nd-best dynasty prospect in baseball and the fourth-best catching prospect.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
