Byron Buxton Wants Contract Extension From Twins
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton wants a contract extension, though it might make more sense for the deal to wait until after the 2021 season. The Twins have reportedly approached Buxton's representatives about an extension- though the two sides might not see eye-to-eye on his value, given the upside he's flashed- 16 homers and 29 stolen bases in 2017- and troubling injuries-he's played a full season just once. The 27-year-old is committed to staying on the field in 2021, showing up with added muscle while not sacrificing his blazing speed- and even taking fewer chances on the field this spring. Buxton has 30-homer, 30-stolen base potential in fantasy baseball. If he stays on the field, he'll have no trouble proving his worth to the organization, as well as to fantasy managers who take him at his 123 ADP.
