Raimel Tapia Has Eyes On Batting Title
4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia had his best major league season last year. He slashed .321/.369/.402 with 26 runs and eight stolen bases over 51 games. This year, he is aiming much higher. In a recent interview, he stated that he has his sights on a National League batting title this year. Rockies manager Bud Black backed him up, saying "I wouldn't count him out." Tapia struggled out of the gate last year, hitting just .154 in July before hitting .338 in August and .330 in September. Overall, he lifted his average immensely last year, up from .275 in 2019. If he can continue to make strides at the plate, he could certainly find himself in a race for the National League batting title.
